Guidelines for Feedback for tunes

OK, I've been trying to be helpful and give feedback where possible, and I think I've probably given feedback to most of the tunes I've seen up here....

BUT...

...seeing as it does take time to download the file, listen to it, post feedback, etc, would it be possible to get tracks to as near to completion as possible, not just a beat and a bassline pretty much looping for two minutes. I'm not expecting everyone to be amazing first off, but beat + bassline doesn't = tune - have a bit more faith in your abilities and get something close to a finished track before submission. Not knocking anyone starting up, but as I've said before, we're not making tunes by committee.

What does our panel think?

P.S. This did spring up from a post of Fully's, but in all fairness, he's posted up some good tunes in the past and I liked his clip, so this isn't aimed at him.

Cool man. I was speaking in general. Fullyrecs you seem to weight in with more than your fair share of reviews so all good. 16 bars at least would be nice tho

i recorded a sine wave and was just wondering what every one thought. I reall need feedback on it. I think Shonky would be ideal for this.

Post it up, yawn. Really like the way that the bass is really low, got a sort of stark minimalist concept to it. Like the stop/don't start nature of the beats, really gives it space. Sounds a bit dry though, why not add some reverb to it.

Now fuck off

I think that maybe we could just come up with an acronym and save some time. My idea is -

FTOFO

Full Tune or Fuck Off

P.S. I came up with an amazing hi-hat sound, do you think I should continue with it. I think it's hype

can we have a sticky on this thread please?

also without sounding like a proper fuckin hippy how about we have a bit more discussion of things and avoid making comments that simply slate whatever or whoever without any justification. If someones made a post they [hopefully] have given it a bit of thought so in return have a bit of thought when replying.

Music production is a nearly infinite topic, i'm sure even the biggest producers still have things they could learn or wish they knew. This is the only spot i know where so many aspiring dubstep producers regularly post, it seems daft for it not to be used to full advantage.

This post is about feedback though, not tips, synth programming, etc. Totally aware that there's things people need to know and they can be dealt with via new threads in the usual way.

Sorry about the burglar alarm as well, thought I'd disconnected it. Didn't have anything worth stealing either, so a bit ostentacious in the security I thought.

Do you mean having a space dedicated just to tracks(finished or there abouts) where we can leave constuctive feed back for each other? We will then know where to look for new tracks as opposed to having to search through production, music, dubstep disscusion. What do you think?

Production, like myself, hasn't been that busy lately, so I think it'd make more sense to post here, rather than start yet another sub-forum. People been posting in music too, but they seem to get lost in amongst new mixes, releases, tune idents, etc. Maybe there should be a sticky in music asking folks to check here for new stuff. Chatted to a few folks whose stuff just sinks without response on the music board.

its a bit of a pain, also on the music board you normally get "i like it", which is good but not really the constructive criticism that you look for when posting a tune

and please can we have no more "shall i continue this tune", if you need to ask then probably not.

safe man don't really know why i posted it in here like, was just in a grumpy mood an that, seemed a bit much to start a new thread.
