agreed. reckon if there were a sample pack there'd be a lot more entrants and something to choose between, otherwise we may as well all just post something we've already done with the required sound bunged in at some point.

What a stupid idea!
Anyone else getting pissed off with every dnb

The whole reason for not having a sample pack was so all the songs didn't sound the same, plus i'm sure you have all got GB's of samples anyway. There will be one sound that you will have to implement somewhere (not decieded yet). If you don't like the idea then don't enter.simple.

correct me if i'm wrong but without jungle/drum n bass there would be no dubstep. And wheres the rule saying you are only allow to enjoy one genre of music?

There probably wouldn't be dubstep without any of the following:
garage, breaks, jungle. It's all about merging styles. And course
there's no such rule, like I said I was just in a bad mood when I
posted that. I do however stand by my 'stupid idea' comment

How can you have a competition between comparing whose tune is better with no samplepack?
It's just stupid...

^ Exactly
It's about showing what you can do with a set samplepack...showing your skills as a producer.

So i've knocked together a little samplepack i'll upload it soon. Its pointless IMO because nobody ever uses them. If you want to get involved then please do and tell all your mates. If not then don't bother posting stupid cocky remarks.

Nah sorry mate, I wasn't meaning to have a dig...
Don't call it bitching...
...I thought the point of the sample pack...was so you can only use what's in the samplepack and show your production skills by using the limited sounds.
For example....heres the rules from a sampleoidz/bizzy b competition.
The contestant must then produce an original composition of no more than 7 minutes in length of any tempo, and that's components derive exclusively from the contents of the sample pack (i.e. no synths or outside samples) without exception.
Anyone suspected of using an outside source in their tune will be inquired into and disqualified if any foul play is detected.
