Both Styles usually blend together pretty well. I had been playing Nu skool for a few years and started buying dub step over the past year.

Me too - came from breaks to Dubstep this year - Breaks is just so dull at the moment, there's nothing being released of interest. It's good to see artists like Tayo making the crossover though.
Have been mixing dubstep into breaks but I've just stop mixing breaks all together now - bar a few exceptions.

Can't stand breaks... too clean and cheesy

Maybe now it is, but some of the best electronic music ever made came from the genre. Check out artists like Ils, Layo and Bushwacka, BLIM and The Apollo Kids (aka Initial Research and Quiet Killaz). Still like mixing the breaks I have but for new music it's all about the dubstep for me.

To be fair I'm ignorant of it
I went to quite a few breaks nights at uni and some of my mates are well into it... everytime they play me it I can't stand it. The breakdowns are always about five minutes long of a kick drum getting faster and faster... and then it drops exactly the same as it did before. 'BANGING MATE!'
Actually I remember I had a plump djs set from 2001 and that was quite heavy, more minimal and garagey.

I pretty much gave up on that stuff years back. Plump DJ's and Meat Katie are damn good mind, but I hardly play that stuff ever now. Bushwacka! gets some spins mind but not in dubstep sets.

"every posse and crew" by Deekline & Freq Nasty is stil one of the fattest tunes ever. Been messing around mixing in older shit like "Morpheus" by koma n Bones, "Bashment Track" by Baobinga, "Wormhole" by Quest & Odissi, "timewarp" by loopdigga etc etc etc
Ah, if only breaks was still like that

I would highly reccomend looking up the following...
Kerbcrawler - Crack Whore (Quinn Whalley Remix)
Hi-Fi Bugs - Lydian & The Dinosaur
Bushwacka! releases on Plate
All early Marine Parade stuff
Tipper
1999 - 2002 was the golden age for Nu skool Breaks imo
Then all of a sudden *pffffttt*
Im sure there is a resurgence of quality breaks happening again tho
Sick Rick and Tayo's sets at Glade gave me a bit of hope.

I used to love breaks. But like a lot of people have said, its gone too stale and electo-y which I can't really enjoy.
I loved the more rockier sound like Evil nine but most of it got me excited. It was so fun mixing the more minimal stuff with the more funky stuff and just playing around.
I always check record stores for new breaks stuff though, got a lot of good memories from when I enjoyed it. It got me off the trance that's for sure :/
