Ez all,
I'm glad to announce that
Dubsquare is moving to a weekly slot on
Sub FM, that's each & every Thursday 2-4pm GMT (15-17h CET).
The style of the show will be dubstep somewhat left-of-center plus regular excursions to related genres such as 2-Step, Dub, Elektro, Grime, Jungle, Kuduro, Noise/Experimental, Techno and UKG. Hour one will be primarily dedicated to new dubs/releases, accompanied by dates for Central Europe and probably a couple of news-shortcuts as well. The second hour will be reserved for guests, with
BWO! (Bratislava),
El Rakkas Crew (Graz) and Ca.tter,
Jay-S & M-Step (Vienna) joining in on a frequent basis. Oh, and from now on the show will be in English, so I guess we all gotta live with my unfortunate Austrian accent
Further infos including blog, archive & tracklists at:
dubsquare.net
Much respect to Whistla & crew for the support!
Many thanks as well to everyone helping me with the show!
And much respect of course to Jay-S & Play FM for the past years with Garage Sessions*!
*) Jay-S will continue Garage Sessions, I might occasionally contribute one or another set for his show. Radio Orange 94.0 - where Dubsquare was filling a bi-weekly slot until July 2008 - will broadcast a rather experimental text/sound-podcast called Dub Central every last Friday/month 9-10pm GMT (22-23h) instead.

Today! Dubsquare joining the Sub.Fm-famo
El Rakkas have already jumped on the train, expect a blend of techno & dubstep for hour two. Before that, I'll be rolling out a couple of dubs as well, this time on the deeper side of things... hope some of U are locked and join us in the chat, 2-4pm GMT on
Sub.FM and
dubsquare.net for the blog/archive/tracklist

Tonight, Thursday August 14, 2-4pm GMT/15-17h CET
Dubsquare Radio on
Sub FM - this week somewhere between half-time techno & dubstep with a live-set by
S-Max & DJ IZC...
...hope some of You are locked and join us in the chat!
Based in the rather weird city of Wiesbaden, Germany - and therefore pretty remote from any decent music-scene of the country - S-Max has been very busy in adding to the local micro-scene; in particular by setting up Boogizm Records together with Manutchehr "FYM" Ghassemlou as well as by running the Superbleep-nights together with his mate, Playhouse's dub-techno-pioneer, Lo Soul. As S-Max specialised in puzzling out half-time detroit-patterns, releases on labels such as Detroit-based 7th City Records and remixes for Ectomorph followed. Recently, he became quite influenced by dubstep, resulting in strangely sluggish versions of bass-heavy techno-steppers.

For today's show, Biomat and 1/2 of DvaUnlimited will be joining me in the studio, representing Bratislava's BWO! collective. As they'll be guesting on the show on a regular basis in the future, I'm particularly looking forward to their Sub.FM-debut. Being strongly influenced by the Bristol-scene, they've been pushing the deep side of dubstep for quite some time, combined with some serious grimey turntablizm and lots of support for less known producers in the region. Check out their blog at
http://dvaunlimited.tlis.sk/ - even if You don't speak Slovak, it's worth checking for the pics alone, trust me!
So I hope some of U are locked then...
