Software alternative to the mpc

im looking for a software alternative for the mpc. im looking to get a mpd24 or mpd32 in the future but i wud like a piece of software dat has the closest spec to the mpc and dat all the knobs and sliders int he mpd's work with them quickly
wud any1 no any gud 1s?

Ableton will do that, live 7 has drum racks, which basically are set up like MPC pads, all you need is something like a PadKontrol or Triggerfinger.
You don't have to just use drums in them either, i use them for chopped melodic samples quite a lot.
Although you can get MPC500s for under 300 pounds which might be cheaper than getting a load of software and midi controllers and stuff.

If your using fruity the built in FPC is pretty good.

dont buy a mpc500.. the whole point of the MPC is the fact that it has 16 pads and is primarily used for 4/4 music production. MPC500 has 12 pads.

Yep.
You can even import the MPC groove templates into it.
