We are proud to announce that from the 30th October DEVIATE will be hosting a new monthly residency at DIGITAL, Brighton.

For this first event we have pulled out all the stops, bringing down a fantastic line-up of cutting edge artists for the bass enthusiasts of Brighton. This is set to be a killer night, showing Brighton town what DEVIATE is all about and setting the tone for the massive year ahead. Bass Clef will be providing a captivating live element to the night alongside two of the heaviest DJs in the game: Toddla T & N-Type.

TODDLA T

We are very pleased to announce we have secured an appearance from Toddla T, Fresh off the bus from the Roots Manuva “Slime and Reason” album tour. Recent DJ sets at Fabric for Herve and Sinden’s Get Familiar and Bestival’s Reunion tour as well as Kiss FM and Diplo’s Mad Decent blog also illustrate that if you get this lad on the x-ray, you’ll be blinded by the hot, dancehall flavoured bassline business buzzing right through him. 2008 is moving to the sound of Toddla T’s very own dance, If you u don’t know by now, then you need to come down and find out…

BASS CLEF - LIVE

Deep within his beloved Echo Chamber, Bass Clef has been busy, and it has been time well spent. This summer he has played a run storming live sets including Sonar Festival as well as Deviate & Reggae Roast in London. Bass Clef has produced an album that redefines the boundaries of Dub step, which lies somewhere in between conventional Dubstep and Electronica. "This is without doubt one of the finest experimental dub step releases of 2006. This veers close to electronica in places and is essential if you like Kode 9, Burial or Rhythm And Sound" (Timeout)

N-TYPE

The award-winning Dubstep DJ / producer and label owner N-Type is without doubt one of the heavyweights in the Dubstep scene. Voted Best Dubstep DJ in 2006 and 2007 with releases on labels such as Tempa, 3.5 Records and his own Terrain imprint you can always expect the freshest dubplates, biggest beats, basslines and anthems in an N-Type set. He is currently a resident at the legendary FWD>> night and has played show stopping sets at the mighty DMZ.

RESIDENTS

This killer selection of headline acts will be joined by residents Ryde, Mike Jones & Exel & Sandman who have been tearing up Deviate events across the UK over the past 2 years. Expect an eclectic soundscape of Reggae, Dubstep, Tech House, 2-Step, Minimal Techno and much more from some of London hottest underground talent. DJ MOODIE, founder of the monthly skankathon “REGGAE ROAST” will be kicking things off with a righteous selection of Roots, Dancehall, and Digit-Dub flavours to warm up the massive double 21-inch subwoofers.

EXEL & SANDMAN

Over the past 2 years DJ Exel and Sandman have been astounding crowds up and down the country with an explosive mix of cutting edge Dubstep beats and razor sharp rhymes. On their travels they have supported numerous high profile artists from Benga to The Nextmen as well as playing storming sets at Big Chill Festival and Secret Garden Party this summer. Exel and Sandman combine powers to create a dynamic and exciting stage show, captivating audiences at every venue they hit.

ROOM 2

Each month room 2 will be hosted by LAZY BOY and a host of up and coming Brighton artists ensuring we are representing breaking, local talent. This month Room 2 sees Lazy Boy alongside, Mike Jones, Saul and Shearlaw playing an upfront mix of tech house, minimal, 2-step, electro and much more for a banging alternative to the main room.
