I want to buy a big LCD for the studio...

So I want an LCD TV that I will be mainly using for the studio as a monitor. Does any body have any suggestions as there is so much on the market. I want to spend about £500 and will be sitting a couple of feet away from it only - when making my music. I will use it for watching TV and DVDs as well, and wouldnt mind free view inbuilt.

If not suggestions on models, suggestions on what to look out for/ what I should be looking for/ whats good/ whats not good and so on.

Thank you!

Nev B.

well if it isn't neville fucking bartos!
you got a head that needs regular panel beating

sorry, aint got much of an idea about tvs, but check tesco/dixons/currys etc
my mate got a nice big panasonic, 48" or some shit, for £399 from tesco
definately look for a sale though, they'll knock £2-300 off tv's regularly.

you need to get some records out under this name...they'd sell out even if they're shit, chopper is legendary :D

start off you wanna make sure its got a VGA input for your pc

if your only gonna be a few feet away you probably dont wanna get anything over 32"

if your looking for something thats gonna give a good picture quality the best brands to look for are either Sony, Pioneer or Panasonic - but they are probably all quite pricey...

Saumsung are good value for money, i had a 23" one fot abit and never had any issues with it.

i think most tv's have built in freeview now as well

As it goes i browsed the tvs in Dixons yesterday and 32 seems to be the one. Is there any pixle rates/ depth(?) I shouldnt go below or anything?

If you're looking to get one from a big chain store like Dixons/Currys then check out their stores online first before going to the shop, they're bad fuckers for having the same TVs in store at about £200 dearer.

Oh and I'd recommend a Samsung.

ya cool great idea
but eh,
once you go above like 23, 24 inchs the screen size becomes counter productive

your best off getting two 22's rather then a 48 in my opinion

and i have used both.

also refresh rate is not what makes a good monitor
