Offtopic should splinter from the main forum to create a polliticly informed sub faction. Viva revolution. Then we can bicker until the ship runs aground and we all get drowned/smashed on the rocks of sociol upheaval. Come on, what do you think? Sounds like a plan to me.

It'd be nice if we could have a no-holds barred battle to the death of the leaders of the various groups. Most folks want peace, most of the people that want war aren't going to get their hands dirty and I think they'd probably think twice if it was their lives at risk, rather than issuing macho threats from bunkers.

2. Any one who has been to war and seen it first hand the pointlessness of it and the harm to themselves and the "enemy" it causes, wouldn't be so quick to send in troops. And would probably favour diplomatic solutions everytime. But as we've seen diplomacy only work's if one side isn't a complete rejectionist bully, who disregards every proposal put on the table, until the Arabs have nothing left to choose between apart from violence or complete iradication from the land they've lived on for thousands of years. Arabs have for decades agreed to a two state salution bassed on the pre 1967 borders. And every time this comes to the table the Israil/Us side ask for more fucking conditions , like the complete control of the scarce water resouces. Who in thier right mind mind would agree to that. The Arabs are understandable in there refusal to agree to such requirements. Yet this is anought of an excuse for the Israil/Us to say the Arabs are refusing to comply. And then use this as an excuse for continude militry incursions in to arab civilian populations under the pretence of looking for/assasinating a memeber of Hezbolah/ or PLO. Who they invaribly don't find or kill but do manage to kill loads of completly inisant people.

anyone who's studied ME relations knows that israel isn't interested in peace, the people in charge of israel at the moment (olmert, sharon before him) are pursuing a "greater israel" - turning what is now palestine into israel.

exactly. I can't believe the amount of seemingly intelligent people out there who can't see through this 'war on terror' bullshit. thats what happens when peoples world-views are informed entirely by the media.
