lol i know, but if i want a Sony laptop for example, you have to get Vista with it, and aparently you can not install XP onto it :? something to do with drivers etc??

its not strictly the drivers, its the componants in the laptop, some new laptops will only work with vista because they dont need the parts that recognize xp

serato recommends not to use vista if you have the option.. i recently tried to install it on a vista, and its fucked up. it recognizes my mixer as the external soundcard, but as soon as i open serato it stops recognizing the external soundcard, and tells me the interface is disconnected..

Mine works fine. You just have to make sure that you install the Serato software and drivers with the Scratch box connected.

If you just install the software and then connect everything afterwards it bugs out and BSODs you all day long. Not healthy!

serato

You dont have to install it with the box hooked up at all. Not sure whats wrong with all these other people. But I have it installed on both my Mac Laptop and a Laptop with Vista. Both work fine. Hope this helps.

the components inside the laptop,if you buy a brand new laptop with vista installed, its unlikely that you would be able to convert to xp
