November 14th
Glasgow School of Art
£8

On November 14th we are joined by the most talented of old friends and some highly regarded new ones. Mweslee, BFlecha and Darkstar all join us for a night of unmissable music.

Darkstar are the infamous crossover Dubstep posse that have consistently blended genres with irate success and mind blowing premise. They had record stores and message boards going wild for there 2007 12"s 'Dead 2 Me / Break' and 'Lilyliver / Out of Touch' on 2010 Records'. They followed up beautifully with the celebrated Zomby collaboration 'Memories / Saytar' on MG77 and stated great intent on the 'Round Ours / Maven / Dunhill Riddem' EP on the infamous imprint Clandestine Cultivation. Soon Kode 9 came calling and they dropped the highly awaited 'Need You / Squeeze My Lime' on the forward thinking label HyperDub which garnered them praise from all quarters of the Electronic music scene.

Darkstars sound comes from all types of music; a highly mixed composition that references Techno, 2 - Step, R'n'B, Dub and Garage. It stands at the forefront of Dubsteps ever expanding parameters and contains snapping drums, 8 - bit harpsichord riffs, Vocodered vocals and low frequency sub bass. Taking influences as far a field as Roger Troutman and Quincy Jones, this mutant sound has to be heard.

The boys from down South will be DJing a blend of all the music they reference in their production techniques and playin out some exclusive material from their forthcoming HyperDub release.

For one night we are taking the night off and leaving the residency in good hands with one our oldest and beloved friends Mweslee, stepping in beside his beautiful and talented girlfriend BFlecha.

Mweslee is no stranger to Glasgow; having torn apart the sound system alongside Bass Clef at the last ever Triptych festival and opened up minds at the now defunct 'DBLSPK' club back in 2007, he knows the locals well. Mweslee released the groundbreaking 'Megaplast' EP on 'Kindred Spirits' in 2006 which has gone on to be a huge influence on all the members of LuckyMe and basically pre - dates the whole "Beat Scene". His recent 'Chandal 500 / Jamas Jame Jamon' 7" on 'All City Records' is one of the best records of the year, and easily stands out in the greatly received '7x7 Beatstrumental' concept series.
BFlecha is a prominent DJ on Spanish shores, rocking crowds on a regular basis at the collosal 'Sonar Festival' and in her home town of Vigo. Also a budding and hugely talented producer her recent rework of the U.K based Soul group 'The Politik' is undeniably brilliant, taking 80's sounding synth work and moulding jaw dropping claps / bass, its a heavenly dancefloor cut.

Mweslee and Bflecha will be playing the FINEST in Italo Disco, Hip - Hop, Prog, Club, Experimental and Electro.

This Lucky Music party is held in the Glasgow School of Art on Renfrew St.

Door Tax ix £8 and £5 for Art School Students.
