just browsing FactMag today and found they had just written up an article about the South African 'kwaito' music movement.

For me Kwaito is like a slower version of Kuduro... even the dance is similar
that Mujava track is wicked!

Yeah I've listened to a bit of this, allot of the beats are much like Funky beats. Soca influenced.

Yeah u know what I mean. Neither are copying each other but getting influences from similar sources !
That tunes banging. Kwaito is so raw.

for posting that sick ass mix. all the earlier kwaito tracks ive heard sound like slowed down house.
if youre new to south african music be sure to peek the INDESTRUCTABLE BEAT OF SOWETO series. For township jive. you will here the galloping beats and a unique style of fonky bassline.
