Landstrumm was ahead of the game

Post by joe muggs » Wed Oct 29, 2008 11:24 pm

OK not only is "Lord For £39" album of the year so far in my book, but listening back to old stuff, I reckon Neil Landstrumm was ---><--- that close to doing dubstep in 2002. Listen to the intro to 'Bullet Proof' on 'She Took A Bullet Mean For Me' - before the 4/4 kickdrum starts in - and tell me I'm wrong.

"pro audio" and "bedrooms and cities" are absolutely timeless albums imo
got too see him play live recently, he tore the place apart...

and his first on peacefrog "brown by august" is wicked too now that i think of it.

Yeah I got some of his stuff from the late 90's. He had dirty bassline techno back then. I haven't heard his new shit TBH. I should get on that.

That vid is quality. Need to check more stuff by this guy. I've seen his name about for years but have never looked into his work properly. Anybody got any recommendations on where to begin?
