techno scene is poppin' up there... you got indie hip-hop on lock down... dubstep will come. Bug those tesh kids to start it up...

Also... been meaning to make it up to the cities for awhile... you throw it... I will come.

did a dubstep set at a tesh lock in this weekend..
half the kids had never even heard dubstep, let alone, Zomby-Liquid Dancehall, Taz Buckfaster-Quack,Babylon System- Examination of Time VIP,Goth Trad - The Clown.. hope i didnt lay it on too thick. I should have eased them in with some Martyn and Peverlist..
But shits in the works, glad to know we could draw from Chicago!

great choices!! i say, keep them on the bleeding edge of heaviness and filth, and lay that shit on THICK!!!!

hmm... I wouldn't count on universal appeal... I have other interests at the heart of it...

So much of the Wisco crew has moved there in the last few that I have to make it up soon.
Been thinking about catching a freight and doing it hobo style in the warmer months... we'll see.

i've been playing it out just about every month for the past year or so at various venues around town.

i ran a weekly dubstep/techno night at Temple for about 8 months till it closed down earlier this year.

konkrete jungle has been having at least 1 dubstep dj every night for the past few months. it happens every other weds @ the vip room of First Avenue (next one is next weds 11/12).

I'm playing next friday (11/14) @ Ground Zero. I'm not sure of the set time (im on either 11 or 1230), but I do know I get an extended set so it should be a good time to say the least ; )

Lots of dnb guys have taken to it recently so there's at least a handful of djs playing it here. Look for Hack, Nick Merchant, KJ, Kani, and myself Defecks. We all play out pretty regularly now for the most part.

Hey Minnesota people! If you're in Minneapolis tomorrow night come check this out! My good buddy Merchant is playing dubstep from 10-11, then Lehman brings really good techno from 11-12, then myself and mbc will be bring a set of all things surrounding the 140bpm range (dubstep, techno, jungle/breakbeat hardcore/etc), then the night finishes off with Goldenchild bringing the dnb selection!

Hit me up here or on myspace if you need directions or any other info. I might be able to get some guest list spots too....

The other two names would be Aaron Bliss ans Signore Veloce. Both of which now are pretty involved in the house and techno scene here in minneapolis.

No worries there man.

There was a gap of a couple years here and I think most people don't realize / weren't there / know that those guys were doing it before most stateside. it's kinda a shame that paul went back to dnb imo and nikki doesn't really get to play out anymore. i booked her when i was still doing a night and i think it was one of two times she's played out this year. which really sucks because she's a sick dj. i think if they played out more people would see the ukg / dubstep connection that, i think, honestly a majority of the people don't even know about. especially since all of the dubstep djs in town were once dnb djs...i think nat0sha is really the only one thats come full circle from garage.
