MARTYN returns to Dub War after a year which has seen him carrying the dubstep torch with a number of groundbreaking releases showcasing some of the most innovative and exciting sounds in any genre. Martyn has succeeded in bringing the soul back to dubstep, merging elements of house, techno, dnb, with an unmistakable forward momentum that keeps bodies moving. This set is not to be missed!

The legendary NYC soundboy BADAWI aka LADYMAN aka Raz Mesinai (ROIR, Skull Disco, Agriculture) also returns to Dub War in advance of his forthcoming deeper than deep Shackleton remix for Skull Disco. He plays a live set of original material which flirts with classic acid house, Middle Eastern rhythms, avant-classical music, and the heavyweight dub which has left his mark on albums like Bedouin Soundclash going back to the mid 90s. Did we mention his work is being performed at Carnegie Hall next month by the Kronos Quartet? No joke.

BEN NEILL (Verve, Sixdegrees) opens the night with a live set at the intersection of jazz and electronic dub. He has collaborated with such luminaries as John Cale and DJ Spooky, and brings the breadth of experimental music of the past, present, and future to bear on his latest bass-heavy productions featuring live trumpet manipulated through the laptop.

Very great. Although I wouldn't have expected to see Martyn and Badawi on the same night, I like them both for unique reasons - and should be interesting to hear that back-to-back? I think that's a yes. Curious about Ben Neil as well.
