A nice gentleman outside DMZ t'other week gave me a flyer for a dub...ish gig at the Truman Brewery this Friday 21st November, featuring LV and Dandelion live. Anyone headed? It's safe to say I'm a huge fan of LV and Dandelion's voice is killer. There are a couple of other acts on which I'm not familiar with, but given it's only £4, it's totally worth checking out.

Quite surprised there's no thread about this already...

Hot on the heels of a successful launch party, Heads High serve up the next sweet treat in a fresh season of events at Vibe Live.

Born in North London's creative warehouse community, Heads High has evolved into a refreshing audio-visual experience that challenges divisions within the confines of performance and beyond. Every set blurs the line between the live musician and the DJ's mix; the parts melding with each other to create a smooth, integrated sensory experience. Each night's programmme punctuated by performances from the Heads High family. Expect live horns, guest vocalists, MPC/Synth jams and all that good stuff.

Having placed reggae centre stage for a spectacular opening party, this next event points the spotlight squarely at the sound of London's digital underground.

LV & Dandelion push the Dubstep envelope in ever more challenging directions, splicing cavernous two-step percussion with earthshaking sub-bass, haunting digital soundscapes and brooding roots reggae vocals. Receiving plaudits from the likes of BBC Radio 1's Mary-Ann Hobbs and gaining notoriety for the unique style of their productions for the Hyperdub label, LV & Dandelion are is set to make many more deep, dark waves in the coming months.

Bringing the soul will be future funkateer OlivierDaySoul. Seduced from DC by the eclectic vibrance of London's music scene, Olivier has made waves in the woozy, alternative hip-hop and future soul communities where he has been championed by the likes of Radio 1 Xtra's Benji B and Ampsoul's Jay Scarlette. The Hudson Mowhawke produced 'Bopgunn' (taken from his Kilowatt longplayer on the 4Lux White label) sparked much interest on the UK's underground and Heads High are proud to unveil his brand new, full live show to an expectant public.

Heads High meet OlivierDaySoul and LV & Dandelion on Friday 21st November. Please contact Tina on the above address for more information.
