STINK LIKE SOCK AFTERMATH!

Post by T_macabre » Sun Nov 23, 2008 3:03 pm

First of all, big up all heads that reached from far and wide. Your support was much appreciated. We took a risk by not booking a "commercially viable" lineup in a big club, but we wanted to represent what Dubstep is actually about and do it properly on our first big one!

Large up all the artists for playing their part, bar 1 or 2 unsavoury moments largely caused by Stevenage girls (opitomises why i hate living there), 99.9% of the contingent were there to rave and did so right till the sound got cut off (sorry!)

And awful lot of people "reaching" didn't make it for whatever reason, so numbers the club were expecting didn't materialize, wicked turnout still, but i'm hoping that from the general vibe of the night, the club see the potential and are willing to give us another bite of the cherry.
I have to wait till mid week to find out :|

Very pleased with the sound in there, it was worth shelling out for the extra subs, it gave the peeps in there reachin their first Dubstep night the sound the way its meant to be heard/felt

All the DJ's played banging sets, a proper cross section of sounds represented on the night... and the hosts held it up neatly!

its gonna be painful waiting for that call, fingers crossed we'll be bringing you another one soon

lookin forward to a f*ckin rest today!

safe

It looked a decent amount of numbers, everyone skanking at the front.

Out to T_! launching vinyl into the crowd too lol.

Big night. Chest hurts!

Big night, thanks T_!! Enjoyed pretty much every set, was expecting quite a varied selection and wasn't disappointed! Was most of my mates' first dubstep experience and they enjoyed it immensely. The extra subs definitely helped as the most they'd experienced before was the system at Fez.

Was rooting for Pokes when he shouted "That's rude!" at the sound guys for cutting Silkie off, but had to LOL a bit at the expression on his face when they cut him off too :P

Couple of my mates got in trouble with a bunch of nobheads sometime before the end, think they all got chucked out :(

As to numbers, to be fair, the Junction's a really big venue, you'd've had to get a fair chunk of the London regulars to come up as well to have it packed solidly even if the whole of East Anglia reached. Also it was rather freezing outside! Still, it made for loads of room for hardcore skanking and it didn't get too warm. Hopefully the bar was busy enough to make up for it, and the club noticed the really good vibes going on and will keep it up!

I missed all the flying vinyls, was too busy skanking  :( Mates caught a couple tho lol.

Only 1 request for the next time: run later if possible please! :D Was fucking freezing outside, spent an hour walking around before sneaking into the Travelodge for an hour!

Great night, was busy enough to not feel empty, but spacious enough to get sufficient skanking room.
Had a mate kicked out early on, his fault though really, can't blame security. Bloomin' regretamine.

Sound was good, any louder & I would have been suffering. Forgot earplugs :o

Stevenage bints did my nut a bit, also some rowdy geezers at the end. Kept flooring some guy on the dance floor over & over. Dick.

Oh yeh, any pictures? Saw a cameraman around near the end of the night.

Also interested in what happened with sound being cut off?? Was it just coz the staff wanted to go home sort of thing or what?

i was on the box office at 4 when it was due to finish with the manager and im guessin they just wanted to go home, i dont think they expected so many people to still be there skankin at the end..

dread it got cut off, im only sorry i couldn't clone 3 of myself for the night and be in 3 places at once, that woulda been helpful

still, a huge amount of positives from the evening.. lets hope the venue are on another one... or i guess we'll have to get on the hunt for another suitable place with no shitty sound restrictions

its nothing but a fair representation of how shit Stevenage is...

on the up note feckin massive night T_! and Stink Like Sock. Was well worth the mission. Proper vibe not usual outside of LDN/Bristol/Brighton. You repped the North Herts homestead with pride. Massive.

Hold tight Kay if it was you i was chattin to outside.

oh yeh, and Joker's set...OH MY DAYS!

My head still hurts, did get out of bed yesterday!

Wicked night.

Larner set killed the vibe a bit, great tunes, great mixing but I think it went on a bit long without dubstep and allot of people got uninterested. The MC on his set was dry as well. On that kinda set u need someone to hype it not standing in the back great say odd words.

Other than that every set was BIG.

I was standing next to them girls fighting as well. My mate was gonna make a move on one of them and next thing she's getting buss up!

T & R.Demon was the set of the night for me.

What did people think of Inja on Mic hosting ?
