flying lotus & kode9- kryon
flying lotus & kode9- kryon
just heard this for the first time in the FlyLo essential mix. he drops it right before the Rustie Spliff Dub remix near the latter end of the show. really like the vibes on this one. always loved that tag-team radio set of theirs and wanted to see them collab at some point.
anyone know any more on this? release info?
obliged.

was very pleased to hear this on that mix, it's at the end of that half hour kode9 and spaceape gilles peterson thing also, slightly different live-ish version on there with spaceape and different drums. should have guessed that flying lotus was behind fuzzy epic synth.
don't know anything else about it though... maybe, hopefully, on the kode9 album next year?

Re: flying lotus & kode9- kryon
From R.A. today
Bass music innovator Kode9 has teamed up with The Spaceape for another LP, Black Sun, due for release this April.
The new record features all new material from the Hyperdub founder and his MC collaborator, and will follow up their 2006 album Memories of the Future. In the years since that release, Kode9's sound has evolved considerably, mostly shedding the framework of dubstep for ever new mutations of UK bass music, as heard on his DJ Kicks or the You Don't Wash EP from last year. In addition to The Spaceape's post-apocalyptic rhymes, which have also haunted records by Martyn and Echologist, the album features Chinese MC and producer Cha Cha. On the final track, Kode9 is joined in the studio by Brainfeeder beatsmith Flying Lotus.
Tracklist
01. Black Smoke feat. Cha Cha
02. Promises
03. Bullet Against Bone
04. Green Sun
05. The Cure feat. Cha Cha
06. Hole in the Sky
07. Otherman
08. Love Is the Drug feat. Cha Cha
09. Black Sun (Partial Eclipse Mix)
10. Neon Red Sign feat. Cha Cha
11. Am I
12. Kryon feat. Flying Lotus
Hyperdub will release Black Sun in April 2010.
