IMPORTANT / Scrap the 696 petition!

696 is a document that promoters would have to submit to Police before putting on an event, saying what type of music they intend to put on, and the ethnicity of the expected punters, as well as other information such as date of birth and address of all the artists and performers.

Just looks like more paperwork to me, I don't promote so I don't know what is currently needed to put on a night but this form is a bit over the top.
After reading the form itself I have to point out that it does NOT ask for anyone’s ethnicity.
It seems a bit wrong of the petition creator an op to accuse this document of racial prejudice when it is not there.
Still sign the petition, there is no need or benifit to providing all the information the do ask for

Indirectly. Because they know that x type of people go to x type of rave which brings x type of trouble.
I mean going back to the garage days, stratford rex, palace pavilion, bagleys etc...Garage was drawing in a crowd that had a certain violent element to it because lots of stabbings and gunnings were happening.
I guess that's what they are trying to stop... If bare violence started popping off at classical raves then I hope they would clamp down at that too.
I don't really like it, they should make sure clubs have adequate security to stop this sort of shit happening and take away licenses if they don't.

true, but i have to stay in denial to make me feel better.
Ive done the whole promoting thing for years and this will stop people like me even bothering with it all.
this should only apply in residential areas if any.
