I think I read something about those and some shite old drivers that they refuse to update.

Thinking about getting one of those M-Audio jobs myself. Talk me out of it if necessary.

I was about to ask the same question.... I want to buy one night tonight as I just got paid. The 'focusrite saffire firewire audio interface' looks super dope, but one review says this:

"The Saffire is great for audio recording straight to computer with little sequencing. The preamps are very clear and the Saffire Control interface is geared towards recording. However, I mainly work with sequencing many VST instruments and have had latency problems with the Saffire. I continously hear clicks and pops when playing tracks. Even when I increase the buffer size to the max, still some clicks and pops can be heard. This has been a great dissapointment. It seems Focusrite has not developed their sequencing/software side to the same quality as their recording side. Very dissapointing. "

So I'm thinking NO for this, as it is mainly a recording card.

What is a good card for working with the sequencing/software? Any others besides the M-audio above? I'm gonna keep searching.

I don't think you could possibly go wrong with MOTU. My problem is I'll never be able to afford one. They don't have many lower priced options.
