The more i search for tunes to play out

Post by misk » Tue Dec 23, 2008 4:31 pm

The more i realize that there isn't much in the vein that im looking for. It just makes me want to make tunes even more :D

It's both motivating and frustrating.

You need both IMO, frustration and motivation to keep going in the right direction.

oh dude, i told you in the "what style are you making now" thread that i'd love a 320 of that tune! its fucking dope. as far as i know you, and kial in SD are two producers i'm really feeling. I'm not looking for the "extreme!" hard sound, but more of that weird techstep kind of sound. sinister is soooo much darker than "fucking hard in your face!"... you know?

Gebel is still my favorite misk tune

very mysterious with a heavy dance vibe

I'd like to hear more like that from you

I like that one too man. Don't be afraid of cliche. That is pretty much EDM in a nutshell. If you completely avoid cliche I am willing to bet the dancers will avoid it as well.

haha i hear you. well i make a lotta shit too. I've got one thats almost finished (eg. abandoned) that i think is decent. seems like it's all about distortion. Im going for that dom and roland kinda sound, where you dont quite know where the sound came from, but it sounds so out there and otherworldly, that you just have to hear it again!

got it right there in one!

i don't seem to have a problem making the main synths but for me esp in dubstep its the little touches and atmospheres that can really make a or break a track and unfortunately i suck at those always have done.

just mess around with pad presets and that shit comes together. its about finding a place where those sounds fit in the mix. you mess around enough and you'll find something you like.

listening to "tentacle" now and its deep, dark, yet moving, which is a hard balance to maintain

most dark stuff is kinda reecy and undanceable

I like this one

biggups again
