ouch. I wouldn't go that far, I think it's a cool sound with potential, definitely doesn't grab me like dub did though...

it's certainly not as exciting as 2003-2005 dubstep (yet), but it has its highlights e.g. Roska, Apple, Lil Silva...

Theres some stuff I think is wicked already, aswell as some stuff I think is shite already. This will continue.
Thats about as defined as I think that question can ever be answered

A lot of funky sounds more like dubstep than dubstep does these days, and it's not as if it's all that different to something like "Left Leg Out" or "Den of Drumz", both huge dubstep tunes. It's not all great, but I'd certainly rather hear a bit of it at a dubstep night rather than wall to wall half-step trudge.

I like the really dirty raw stuff like Apple, Roska, D Malice, Lil Silva, Geeneus, Hard House Banton, that Kode 9 & LD track.
Marcus Nasty's radio show is pretty wicked, I loved it when he got some grime MC's in a while back.
Some of it is a bit to cheesey though and some of it just sounds like any old house music from the early 90's.
I'm lookin forward to elements of it creeping into dubstep more than anything, more and more funky rhythems and mad drum paterns are always welcome.
