Been watching dubstep documentarys online and reading bits online, loads of peeps are trying to herald this song as the most important dubstep tune, like the anthem of dubstep. Is it really though???? Suppose it is the first alot of people heard, wiley flashed up his lighter in respect when he first heard it and all dat. But surely there are other tunes being overlooked??????

It was the tune that got me into dubstep and also did the same for a lot of other people. It can also still get dropped at a club and get a great reception. It's a very very VERY important/influential/amazing song.

I think was the first real tune with any sort of crossover going on (open to being proved wrong here though!). Am I possibly right in thinking it made it into the top 40 of something or other? Either way I think it was the first time a tune was made within dubstep that got any real recognition outside of the dubstep/close communities. Theres been a few now since, but I always think of it as the first bit of dubstep you might have heard on the back of a brixton bus on some kids mobile phones or something.
I mean sure, there are now others which have done this to a greater degree, like night or something. But back when request line first came about (2004/2005?) a tune doing that was biiig news!
And standard, its skream ringing in the changes. Badman

grime heads took notice of dubstep
MTV did a little documentary on dubstep after it came out
villalobos and other big djs started to play it....
etc
it opened alot of doors, no dubstep tunes before it had done so ,to such an extent, thus it is an important tune.snoooze./////

I'd say socially/culturally (i.e. the dubstep scene), it was probably the most important. Sonically though, I'd say the first half-step tune (Horror Show?) was more important, or of course you could take it back to Groove Chronicles.

I know it got a lot of grime people onto dub, Skepta even did that remix with it kinda mashed up over the duppy beat. It was one of the tunes that drew me back away from grime and back onto dubstep

the groove chronicles stuff and the el-b stuff was all being played by garage djs.
To me dubstep is still garage but this song gave DUBSTEP a wider name and made the genre stick it's chest stand out and say hi this is dubstep.

Once Zinc remixed, it gave DnB cats something to really either love or hate, and to me, that was crucial. The haters yakin bout Dubstep being shit has been the biggest influence on people giving it a listen. Good or bad, it gave them a reason to see what the fuss was about.
You can totally love or hate this tune and still see how instrumental it was in helping to mold and shape a movement.
And it will flex the stacks to be sure.
