cool thanks - I don't really make breaks that much but I have a big dnb/breaks background.
What does pared down mean?
Man it's hard to type right now - do you realise how hard it was to correct every mistake I made right now lol

hmm yeah I could do but I like hihats
If they're not there they leave a lot of frequencies out of the mix and a track can sound empty... I'll do some testing though

like it. not sure about some of the trancey lead sound. the creaky stabs are cool though. am feeling the energy in the hats, but reckon something a bit more groovesome than straight 16s would sound good at points.

Yeah the trance leads gotta go, tarnce is the sound thats kinda anti-dub, almost souless, so try to stay away from them, or if you use them, minimalise them to no end. The track has a very good production quality, and the hats aint bad, but you wanna bring the hats in at intervals, not keeop them throughout the track, dubstep should keep many elements of that half time riddim and beat layout. Truth bne told the only dub elements you got is the bassline, and half time kicks. If you minimalised it mroe, itd be a much better tune, methinks. Overall however, its very good, bettea than im doin so i cant complain!

Yeah I know what you mean but I don't wanna stick or be bound by 'rules'. I fucking hate rules. Fuck rules
I wanna do something that is just my own shit, if it's at dubstep tempo then you can mix it with dubstep but I don't wanna make generic minimalistic kick sub clap reverb sub sub stuff. It's boring.
Know what I mean?

stick to your guns I'd say...not too keen on that heavier b-line synth in there...but the dubby acidy bits get me going every time!
