This may sound a bit arsey but google is a great tool man.

If you use searches like:

intitle:index of /samples

or other words like 'fx' or 'sounds' etc you can find a site without an index page so you just get a list of wavs/mp3s etc to download ;)

I've found some choice drum sounds that i've picked out of breaks downloaded from this page:

http://www.phatdrumloops.com/old_site/full_list.html

It is essentially a *huge* list of classic breaks lifted from some legendary records. Some of the recordings/compression are really bad so sound quality varies.

Still a good resource though...

I've found they work really nicely when combined with more electronic style hits to create a better 'textured' sound.

*** EDIT ***

I just discovered this goldmine too which has much better recordings. Again though, as breaks they have limited appeal but cutting the actual sounds out of them yeilds excellent pickings :)
