fruity is actually a bit more powerful and versatile than reason
you can use vst plugins and its a fully functional sequencer
you'd be surprised how much music you enjoy was made in fruity
reason is cool, but you can't add any synths to it and the synths that come with it aren't that great

i heard that before so you cant have vst plugs
so is part of it spending money on decent vst synths and other plugs and gathering good drum samples and also to get sound forge so peeps say its exellent and i could make do with fruity

reason is good don't get me wrong. you just can't treat fruity like its trash because its all about what you make of what you got.
you'll need something like soundforge or wavelab regardless.
vst plugins are a whole other world. they can be effects, synths, mastering tools, samplers, whatever. some are free. most you have to pay for (unless you steal it).

dblue glitch is a plug in that mashes up sounds to make them have a aphex, spuarepusher, venetian snares type sound, so if your not going for a idm mash-up sound, its pretty useless, search for some individual filters, delay, reverb, Compression plug-ins
And Fruity can certainly do a job, granted i rarely use the 3X Osc synth or any of the plug-ins, presets and sounds that come with it, but if you have a nice selection of VST's and VSTi's then it shouldn't hinder you at all. I only use it to tap-in the beats and sequence it.

Fruity's gonna be fine to make beats on. Didn't blackdown say somewhere that the ts404 is as important to dubstep as the mpc is/was to hip hop? U can use the delay in the mixer for the time being
