I use all of it in a written form but I pretty much only use american slang in my face to face and over the telephone conversations.

I know if I used english slang like safe and ez, hold tight, bare or braps with the people around me in my area that aren't into dubstep or grime that they would look at me like i was on crack or seriously weird. Not to mention that I don't think that I would sound very genuine using these words in casual conversation.

Something of interest to me though is that I have noticed that the slang term merked or murked has been creeping into bay area and southern rap lately which leads me to believe that slang travels very quickly because of the internet etc and that bay area and southern rappers are listening to grime.
Anyway I am not partial to any slang over other slang or the slang of my area over that of others but I' m just curious what other people think about slang how u use it , its dissemination and origination etc..

This also may be totally stupid, dumb and retarded and i should ride the (short) yellow bus but anyway I thought i would put it out there for the hell of it

Yeah, I find this fascinating too. Seems that we've got US, Australian and the various regions of the UK's different slang to contend with (along with the variants introduced by each new wave of immigration to each of these countries). Seems that quite a few sentences seem pretty much globalised from the off - "So he was like drinking some tinnies, giving it all that, and I was like whatever puta, yer talkin shite".

Yeah, the word murking is from 'the States' not here, you can't pin that one on us. As far as I know its been in rap for a while, at least the last five years, used in a sort of Goodfellas, back of the car way, not in a metaphorical ha ha I made you look pussy kind of bullshit way, like in grime. Jamaican slang is some of the best, most diverse, but in London noone uses all of it unless they were born in Jamaica, thats a lot to learn!
London's own words appear to include nang... urr and anything cockney, but even some of those words are probably nicked off the Indian and Jewish communities. London is just a refelection of the world man. Brap isn't really London slang its just for the rave and music, its just another silly gun noise innit, when the bass line hits, if you actually think about these things they are ridiculously immature, you've got thirty year old men in Shoreditch trying to talk like thirteen year olds!!!

I have listened to rap and hip hop alot over the years and I can't recolllect if i've ever heard the word murked or murk in a rap song until this year.

The whole process though of how slang is developed and spread is fascinating to me in so many ways because it illustrates the confluence and blending of culture through language often through music.

For instance your example of Indians influencing the slang in england illustrates the blending of the Indian culture with English culture. Here Spanish speaking people influence the slang alot and the culture here has changed as well.

There are also alot of Indians in my area but the slang or language in my area has not been influenced by their presence much yet.
Another interesting thing to me is what Shonky mentioned- that slang has become a somewhat internationalized language or that it is developing into that.
