Sound Forge

Only just started using soundforge, when cuting up a track to grab a certain sample, how can you get rid of all the distortion (the hissssss)

any help would apprciated!!!!

Depending on what kind of hiss it is, run a freq filter over the whole sample

Try using the EQ to cut out the bad frequencies.

You can also use the noise gate for that I think... might not be as reliable as EQ though.

get your grubby hands on a waves plugins bundle

they have wonderful tools like denoise and stuff like that

otherwise just use filters to cut the very highs

If its there on the original track the short answer is you can't. See it as flavour if you can.

true true some samples sound nice with a bit of 'crust' on them hehe :)
