Should this not be a sticky on the 'Other music' subforum?

yeah..
ideally it would be a subforum in 'Other music' subforum,
but since that is technically not possible i decided for this.
just to make it tidy,
because every other thread in 'Other music' was "What The Hell Is This "Funky" People Speak Of???" (as you can see here)

Could develop as a decent (and broader, in terms of the number of people) discussion point for funky which isn't Dissensus. Might not but worth a crack

No probs just trying to stimulate some discussion and I'm all for tidiness

dubstep forum has kind of taken a turn for the worse recently.

''Keep Dubstep Alive - Grab your tracks on Addictech.com and support Dubstepforum!"

errrr no. Addictech can fuck off and click its own banners, thanks. i thought dubway paid for the site? a donation button would be better than ''buy this shit and you can keep posting!" and you'd probably get more money in the long run.

and there's generally some pretty stupid rules on this forum...you're not even allowed to mention religion or you'll get banned!

there's a funky house forum here,
http://www.funkyhousemusic.com/forums/index.php

seems a bit pointless starting a mini funky forum when there's already larger ones out there.
if you're going to update anything, it should be the PHPBB that the forum is using!

I think the mods moved a number of the old funky-related threads from the 'other music' sub-forum into here.

plus it saves a flurry of funky related threads in different places on here, making it easier for people new to the scene to get into. ya dig?

Not that I have anything against funky but why does this relate to dubstepforum at ALL?

Its hardcore continuum init. (not that I agree with 'nuum, but basicly all London Bass music)

Well I guess its another strain of London-based dance music mutating a wide range of diverse influences and which is getting quite a lot of people very excited.

Plus, in the past few months, I've already seen Kode, Ramadanman, Ben UFO, Geiom, Oneman, Pangaea, Ikonika/Optimum and Elgato play funky in their sets.

Think there could be some meaningful cross-pollination between funky and dubstep on the way

posted this in the "what the hell" thread but might as well repost it here
badger wrote:when i first joined this forum there was a grime subforum since dubstep and grime had a similar fan base, but since then that got amalgamated into the other music forum. this is no different since dubstep and funky are often (not always) liked by the same people
if for one think this forum is a good thing, but we all know how much people like a good old whinge
