Sometimes I take my midi keyboard ( its wireless) and stand / sit across the room and jam out where I can't see the screen but I don't do it all standing up

Whatever works for you mate. I think you should be as comfortable as possible so you won't be bothered by your psyhical position.

ha. I do! I do my producing on a laptop and I don't really have desk space but there is a romper room style bar in my basement studio space and it just sits on that next to my tables, so I'm kinda up and down from a bar stool to standing up and walking around the room to hear levels, going back to standing at the bar and making changes..
I find that I get alot less cramped up than sitting humped over a mouse. But standing kinda makes doing long tedious operations difficult, cuz you kinda start bending over more to see the screen closely? although I found that it speeds my work flow and makes me concentrate better on getting things pushed out..
