it amazes me some of the stuff he comes up with - skinny, as one, like sun knowledge, angel, take it personal, - the intricacy, subtelty and sheer deepness of his beats leaves me thinking is he the LTJ Bukem of this scene?

Yeah Bukem was never my cup o' tea either. In one way, I can see why you might make the comparison, but I don't think Bukem's tunes are as good as Toasty's personally.
One of the only tunes of his I like is Atlantis II (I need you), and that whole synth lick at the beginning is one single sample from an old house record - not much effort went into it at all.......
Plus, remember that BBC2 docu on the GLO crew back in about 97. I remember Danny Bukem opening up that day's package of 12"s he'd had in the post, having little mix at home to feel out the new tunes. He was saying something along the lines of "I always try to recreate in my club sets what I do here in my living room".
Ah, that's why they've always bored me to tears then.
I can see why people respect him so much, and he is pretty damn good technically as a DJ, but I like my DnB to have a pair of balls - if I want chilled, I'll listen to something else.
