**Don't miss this show! His set at Rainbow Serpent was brilliant. PM me for $15 industry tickets.

The Honeymooners present DEADBEAT:

Saturday, February 7 at Ffour

Get set Melbourne. Deadbeat returns. In a show sure to defy the boundaries of dance music and excite both your minds and feet, DEADBEAT will perform a LIVE club show at Ffour on Saturday February 7.

Deadbeat is Scott Monteith, a long time Montrealer and recent Berlin ex-pat who has been releasing his own special blend of dub laden, minimal electronics since 2000, for labels such as Cynosure, Musique Risquée, Scape, and Spectral, to name but a few.

However it's his "Roots and Wire" album on Wagon Repair that has most convincingly demanded the attention of the broader electronic music community. A mixture of techno, dub, reggae, dubstep and minimal, Deadbeat has set a new benchmark for genre defiance and groove innovation. And this makes no mention of his collaborative work, such as "Atlantic Waves" with Monolake, and "Crackhaus" with Stephen Beaupre.

His work has been met with consistent critical acclaim from the industry's leading publications and websites, and drawn regular performance invitations for some of the world's most respected festivals, including Barcelona's Sonar, Berlin's Transmediale, and Montreal's own MUTEK.

Until 2003 Scott worked for the Montreal based Applied Acoustics Systems, makers of critically acclaimed software synthesizers. The experience has left him with a passion for the development of new creative interfaces, and a strong grasp of some the most cutting edge technology in the industry… not to mention his entirely unique approach to creating outstanding electronic music, and an appeal that transcends the boundaries of any genre.

A certified music technology junkie, his knowledge in such matters has been called upon at various events, most notably at our Melbourne 2007 edition of the Red Bull Music Academy. As such we have eagerly awaited his return for an exciting new club show at Ffour on February 7!!

Whether crafting kaleidoscopic house and techno, snap-clap digital dancehall, or impossibly heavy dub, Deadbeat continues to search for his own unique voice between the ones and zeros.

Due to Deadbeat's genre-smashing nature, his support acts will be drawn from far and wide. Ffour residents Dave Pham and Mike Callander will be joined by AC23, Kammo, Jinga, Arianwen, Declan Kelly, bP and Paz in a night set to blow your mind!!

Presale tickets are $20 from http://www.inthemix.com.au / More on the door ($25).
Ffour: 322 Little Collins St. City. Doors from 9pm. http://www.ffour.com.au
