Where abouts do people mainly buy MP3s from?

Digital-tunes? Addictech? Beatport? other?

Big ups all!

i only buy wavs/flacs. i have an irrational hate for mp3s.

i have mainly only used digital tunes so far, but think i might buy a batch off juno next. i have used bleep in the past, but they only sell a few flacs.

boomkat and juno, used to be beatport but then they started charging tax and other silliness.

digital-tunes because you can get the wav/flac for the same price as mp3

i've only ever bought one or two files - .wavs
from beatsdigital i think

The results would be helpful to anyone selling digital. Thankyou for starting this! I voted for digital-tunes because it is hands down my favorite site plus all of my releases are available there. Unfortunately not all releases make it on there so you have to go elsewhere. I sometimes hit up Juno or Beatport. I can't stand Beatport but they have the tunes.

I've used beatport ALOT & bleep a little.

I need to try the others.

juno seems to have a bigger selection than the others, whens dubstep forum gonna start a digi label????

I used to use Beatport, but currently use Boomkat, Itunes and Dubplate.net. I heard loads of people had trouble with Dubplate, but Iv found them faultless the times I downloaded from them. They have some good stuff that no other digital site has. Also Bleep for those early dmz releases.

iTunes doesn't come in 320, that's the only reason I don't buy there. All of the other music that I don't intend to mix I buy comes through iTunes though.

Today is payday, looks like I'll be checking out some other digital sources today thanks to this thread

maybe I should look into digital files at some point... just I'd rather not lossy mp3 if I can help it favouring vinyl or cd... I guess I'm a bitta sucka for a physical music form.. although Juno do look like they have a LARGE selection of works avail in many formats inc wav.

LAVAMUS.COM. Russian I think, but 13 cents / song, and most of the new dubstep releases are 320s. The reason I go for Lavamus is the selection, honestly, they have so many vinyl rips, it's impressive. No wav tho, just mp3

It's all about how streamlined the previewing process/quality of the cuts are.

Juno hands down, best preview interface for digital. Beatport finally got it's act together offering previews at better quality than 56kpbs mono, but yeah, their prices are stupid. Digital tunes has some other shit but their preview cuts aren't indicative of the tune most of the time and you have to use a third party media player to listen or keep your mouse rolled-over the preview button

Bleep doesn't categorize by release date or genre. Granted if you know what you're looking for, this wont matter, but it hinders discovery.

But anyway, I go for Boomkat & Juno these days, used to prefer Beatport but exchange rates make UK sites the winner for me.

And while we're talking; WTF is Beatports extra $1 for their 1 month before the others exclusives? Y'can piss off! Boomkat get the odd tune before the others but they don't charge extra for it. I'm all for exclusives that are somehow a bit different to regular releases; artwork, different mixes etc but holding tunes to ransom just coz u convinced the artist you'll squeeze a few cents extra for them! Beatport's getting a bit cocky if u ask me.
