Could try an undelete app - the space that the file was taking up may still contain the information (as long as those sectors haven't been overwritten yet, they get marked 'blank' but not actually removed until something needs that exact bit of space).

It's not terribly reliable, but worth a shot...

Could look in

c:\documents and settings\(your profile name)\application data

c:\documents and settings\(your profile name)\local settings\ application data

and look for temp files in a folder for the software you chose to record to but other than that :(. The exact reason I record to a minidisc.

What did you record the mix in? Surley you have the file that you recorded on the program saved? Example being Audacity when you record and save you get the mix data + the .aup file which you then export to .wav/.mp3 so the actual recorded file never needs to be changed/deleted

Gutted, worth a shot but also ......
You must go to the file menu.
TOOLS > FOLDER OPTIONS > VIEW

Tick the 'show hidden files and folders' and untick 'hide OS files and folders'

doesn't work because when I was saving the file it said something like "the original file was replaced, new file will be open now"

and I had no option to Undo... it was like if you were writing a file on Word and when you save it replaced the saved file you had by an empty one and it closes the file you had open, and opens the new one... EMPTY!
