yeah ms2k has a good sound for sure.
I mostly use mine for atmospherics/drones/pads etc with the more "bread and butter" synths coming from the Command Station itself.

I think not. you'd be surprised what banging tunes a friend of mine used to make on FL Studio 5 and a pair of $30 headphones.
edit. I mean, your tracks will really suck if you make them on the play station music maker thing, or ejay from 2 decades ago, but we're talking about contemporary tools at everybody's disposal.

Akai S900.
I never use it though. In fact, I don't know why I ever bought (10 years ago). If someone wants it, you can have it for a 6 pack.

SMH...
Use what you have to do what you can. There are only preferences, comfort levels, and accessibility concerns.
I have been collecting hardware for a while now after the PC I was running went tits-up on me. At the time I decided to by an ASR-x instead of a new PC. The rest has been collected to fill various niches in my setup since that time.
I will be integrating a software rig for recording later this year and will probably switch to a hybrid setup for live shows after that 'cuz hauling gear can be a pain in the ass. But $$$ is a bit tight for such things so I had to schedule shit out and a lap top + software found itself way down the musical priority list.
cheers

Ive been producing with just them MonoMachine and MachineDrum for the last few weeks. I go through periods where I just use software or just use hardware, but usually use both. It does affect my output. The process always affects the outcome. Not in a bad way, just different.
