i like the mame sample pack. it was made so mame users can have sounds on particular games that don't have sound support on mame, but it still owns for making music.

ahh just found out that Magical 8-Bit doesn't work on Leopard, dang, looks real good too.
so for Leopard Logic users Chip32 is also a good 8-bit synth, freeware d/l from this page:

It works on Leopard for me. It only glitches out about half the time lol. I am running Live 7 on OS 10.5
Chip32 is good too, I used to use that back in the day, maybe I should DL again.

Hmmm, that's odd. Might be a Logic-specific problem then, fails validation in the plugin manager cos it's incompatible.
I'm running OS 10.5.6 and Logic 8.02.

I just tossed it in my Audio Units (Components) folder and it shows up in Live. Half the time I try to use it in a song, it only plays in one channel and sounds like a burst of noise and then I have to reload it into Live a few times.
When you layer one or two and add a Sine wave though you can get some interesting sounds.
