Dubstep Alliance are proud to present two of Dubstep's most progressive acts for an exclusive Auckland show.
Headhunter hails from landmark Dubstep city Bristol where he has crafted a unique and distinctive style that reflects the soundsystem-inspired culture of his hometown and does justice to its rich musical history. His unique sound has seen him signed exclusively to Tempa Records, one of Dubstep's most trusted labels. He has since released two stand out EP's and and acclaimed LP 'Nomad' on the imprint. His broad musical boundaries have seen him collaborate with an array of electronic music artists including Martin Buttrich, Brendon Moller, Tech Itch, Luke Envoy, Antix, Kryptic Minds, Leon Switch and Spaceape.
Starkey hails from Philadelphia, USA where he represents the Seclusiasis and Trouble and Bass crew's respectively. A former North American laptop battle champion, in 2008 Starkey was selected by Vex’d to appear on Mary Anne Hobbes' 'Generation Bass' special, the only non-UK DJ to be chosen. Following up his 2006 debut on Werk Discs, Starkey’s LP Ephemeral Exhibits was recently released on the forward thinking Planet Mu label. Already being compared to the likes of Vex’d, Skream and Tipper, Starkey's hard edged spaced out crunk style production stands out in any selection.
Appearing alongside Starkey will be Philadelphia based MC Halfcast. Halfcast is a frequent collaborator both live and in the studio with Sydney based DJ/Producer Semper Fi and has an EP on the Dub Conspiracy imprint. Halfcast’s explosive lyrics are spat in true east coast form.
