i am in school for sociology. only undergrad so far. i am into the whole globalization and social control aspects of it. i probaly like it due to what is going on these days. but as for the carreer part, you gotta do what makes you happy or it will suck largely. if you are in the uk i cant really tell you much. you are probably getting a better schooling than i.
i have a degree in anthropology, which is quite similar to sociology. i doubled w/ women's studies. i feel that i learned a lot and it allowed me to shape my world view more objectively but other than that it had no real world application-- but what major does anyway? what are you planning on doing?
oh and my senior paper was on transgenderism and how it affects the overall gender movement in the US.

this is actually what stopped me from going back to school for sociology, despite finding the subject endlessly fascinating. If higher-ed was free around here, then I'd go back in a heartbeat. However, it's not, and I don't have another $20K to blow on mental masturbation.suzipedia wrote:i feel that i learned a lot and it allowed me to shape my world view more objectively but other than that it had no real world application--

id advise against a terminal master's degree unless you're in a country where a doctorate isnt need to practice as an unsupervised professional.
this would be a postgrad degree for me. hopefully it'll afford me the chance to do more than mentally masturbate [which i can do in the comfort of my home. for free]

wasn't trying to diss, really. I'm just in an unfortunate position of having financial obligations that prevent me from putting serious time into school right now. Good luck w/ it though....lemme read some of your research papersands wrote:: / there are a number of ways you might get assistance with school.
