k so i really like these funky tunes:
roska - elevated levels
roska - pyramids
darkus beat company - visions - roska remix
kode 9 - black sun/2 far gone
NB Funky - Riddim B
Geiom - hard downs
Martin Kemp - No Charisma

but nothing else seems to appeal, i hate all those cheesey vocals/synths
i think the above tunes are sick cos of what they do with the groove/rhythm and shiz
any good recommendations?

Hit us with some recommendations :D

Im in a similar boat man. Ive heard some tunes on the slightly more rhythmic tip that have straight up blown me away! But then yeah, the majority i find pretty hard to listen to...

Will be watching the thread aye! :)

There's this track called 'Was I here before' by Robert Owens that's sick, like a pure hypnotic rhythmical bass-line which I always use to link Funky tracks with more minimal stuff. It has a very similar bassline to Maurizio-M4 so it opens up a lot of options.

I've been gettin a load of old Virgo records too which sound sweet in a mainly Funky mix, more Chicagoey on the whole though. I'll drag 'em out and find out the names.

I'm no deep afficionado myself but Roska's more rhythmic stuf really got me pullin loads of records out to keep on that tip.

I'd love some reccomendations myself!

whoa forgot this thread
cheers for the info, but everything that youve posted is exactly what i dont like, dont understand the hype over that stuff, its nothing new for me anyway
BUT i can understand the hype over roska, and a few others that i mentioned
really new sounds to me, miles away from all other house, ordered all roskas vinyls the other day
and hope that stuff like this continues to emerge
