What's next after Dubstep?

So we all know Dubstep was somewhere lurking on B sides of things years before anyone took notice...
Is there a Sound currently forming itself in the back of record shops we can get in on the ground floor of LOL
You know what--I'm just going put a weird 100 bpm tune with vocals as snares (or something else weird) on the back of all my releases and see if it catches on...

ha!
In the US I see the glitch-hop movement gaining momentum. I am interested to see where that will go.

Very loose description encompassing music from folks like:
Flying Lotus
Glitch Mob
Lazer Sword
Nosaj Thing
Crunc Tesla
Exile
Hip-Hop influenced but featuring elements from electronic music (IDM programming, heavy bass, synths, etc). There is no formal genre but there is a movement on the West Coast of US that is gaining momentum for sure.

Totally. Same here.
Great article on XLR8R here:

Mary Anne Hobbs name-dropped a ton of those folks on XLR8R TV this week too. Is this genre getting love in the UK? So far in NY it still hasn't really caught on yet.

House on the way back? LOL. Where do you live. House has been back for yonks where I am at. I was wondering if it was going to run out of steam soon actually. I have always liked house but right now it is soo trendy it gives me heartburn.

haha i suppose house does cover alot of ground. Im in south uk so theres alot of dnb, dubstep and hip-hop. House seems to have gone out of fashion, apart from eric prydz and more radio friendly stuff. I see a move back to 4x4 and away from complex beats.

It's all about electro house and mashup shit, etc but even in the UK you have ukfunky and bassline. It's not moving there, it is there afaic. Around my parts things tend to be a couple years behind. All of a sudden dubstep is blowing the fuck up. I am no longer that one dood that plays the weird records. I am the guy on all the fliers! Craziness.

THIS! I'm all for dubstep 2
I don't see bass centered rudeness leaving the popular conscious anytime soon, only getting started if you ask me...
