Dj effect units does anyone use one???
Want to buy myself an effects unit, but can't decide which one to go for. Don't want to spend to much, so that rules out the Kaoss Pad. Can anyone recommend one?
Roland EF-303 maybe?
You should be getting these real cheap, seen 'em in local store with €150 price tag. Hadn't used one, though I considered buying such, seems like a real nifty device to have around.
Check this one to get the idea -- http://remixmag.com/mag/remix_roland_ef ... index.html

It shouldnt be to expensive, since its been replaced by the SP-404. And it has some nice effects, like reverb, tape delay, low-pass, lo-fi, plus 21 more..SonOfRave wrote:Hey Anton do you recommend that one, was it expensive i'm on a tight budget at the mo.
but its still mainly a sampler, so thats mostly what you pay for, you should be able to find some other effects-unit cheaper I guess..

bringing this back up because i just got my brand new RANE EMPATH!!!
now i need a good effect unit . . .
did the KAOSSPAD II turn out to be a good tool ?
I´m mainly looking for a effect unit that have the possibility to get unexpected results in the distorted area . . . and ease of use in terms of timing . . .
Looking at the mini - KAOSSPAD now . . . cheap but will it last and how does it sound ?

yeah there gear was only made from 99-01.. if you check out www.vintagesynth.com they have reviews of all their gear
they make a bunch of different filters, an effects unit, a vocoder, and a looper that reads compact flash cards.. all rackmountable gear
i own the filter factory and love it.. it even has LFO to make your wobbles
i got it off ebay.. there are usually a few of their units up there at any given time.. youve got to buy them used since they were only produced for 2 years
all the filters and i think the MOFX were deisigned specifically for use with turntables.. the manuals even say they are designed for DJs

if you have trouble finding someone to ship to norway just get the kaos pad, but keep searching on ebay because eventually youll find someone who will send it your way im sure.
