AFTERDARK PRESENTS AFTERDARK DUBZ

Post by afterdark dubz » Tue Mar 10, 2009 11:14 am

Easy All

ADDUBZ 001 is now out and is available at all good record stores/websites.

Press release:

Afterdark dubz is a label created by the producers from Afterdark to showcase their music. Toxin, Itchy Robot, & Phazeman feature on this, the first release, on their new Afterdark Dubz imprint. Each of Afterdark's three producers has their own style for which they are known, from Toxin’s dark, twisted bass lines to Shy/Itchy Robot’s big impact dance floor fillers and Phazeman’s sinister, epic leads. Merging together influences such as Garage, Reggae and Dub, Drum and Bass, Electro as well as Heavy Metal it is inevitable that Afterdark’s collection of fresh sounds is bring something new and vibrant to the scene. The three tracks that feature on this release are fine examples of this.

ADD001

A: Speakeasy (Toxin)
A Jazzy track that rolls smoothly in and out of improvised guitar and piano sections into big moody Double Bass licks. This track tells a story from start to finish, with its melodic feel and evolving bassline it has been hurting dance floors around the world for some time. Listen close!

B1: Worries in The Dance (Itchy Robot/$hy)
Itchy Robot pulls no punches with this, a heavy minimal track with a catchy sample to boot. Itchy’s trademark drums and the heavy offbeat bassline merge together nicely here to create suspense and at times an empty feeling, this, of course, doesn’t last long. The use of searing square waves with a big sub beneath make this track more than capable of tearing up any dancefloor.

B2: Whiplash - Phazeman (Toxin RMX)
This remix of Phazeman’s original dark rolling Whiplash is about as naughty as it gets. With the switching basslines, beefy snare and Jungle breaks Toxin has managed to up the tempo and keep things intense until the needle falls from its groove. The second drop is very different to the first ensuring that the listener is not left short changed after having their ears raped by the hectic opening.

Djs supporting this release include Bunzero, Beezy, Macabre Unit, Fused Forces, Blazey, DZ, Dutty Dubz along with many others.

Bless up
