good (innovative, forward thinking, ahead of its time )graphic design still exists.
unfortunately theres just so many mother fuckers biting on other stuff. nothing wrong with a bit of vintage design but i dunno...to what extent is it really worth recycyling the same old stuff for the cause of 'if it aint broke, dont fix it'
i like seeing the experimental shit. the stuff that isnt comletely 'safe' yet.
inspiration is a good thing but at least amalgamate 76125761 different inspirations together.
almost did graphic design at uni. glad i didnt in the end, got freinds in there tht constantly have shit loads of work to do while the sound designers typically get stoned and play with sounds.

sad, sad day when the designers republic closed it's doors in january. those guys were the dons of graphic design, tore up the rulebook and did their own thing.

i'm hopefully going to be studying graphic design at university this year, also i wouldn't say it's become stale or shit these days, there's still loads of mad stuff going on.

You could say that about every popular designer (seemed like David Carson designed everything when i was at college

) doesn't mean the lessons they teach are any less valid. Being a student is when you should imitate and become inspired by...probably

I'll be studying GD in Loughborough this year, anybody local on the scene, get in touch.
Agree with pretty much every post so far, it's my choice career but at the same time there's so many people getting into it at amateur level, and the quality of work's just dropping hard.
I guess it's the same as everything, don't worry about the cheap art, worry about your own art and it'll pay off. Always has
