my friend has them and they sound excellent played over his monitors....they're pretty durable as well: hes had them for a year and not replaced the needles yet.

You are absolutely right and I know a lot of people that swear by those but I have a pair here and I don't like em. Went for the whitelabels. Honestly it doesn't even matter to me anymore. Playing mostly control vinyl on my decks these days. Would be nice to get an audiophile cart just for listening to the plastic.

the whitelabels track like nobody's business, but i think the low end drops off after a while. ive cleaned them up and never lick them for gods sake. but IMO i think they lose fidelity sooner than others.

All in one's never seemed like a good look to me.

Used Shure 44-G's for years now, i always thought they had a slightly richer sound than the 44-7. But thinking about moving over to the M35-X.

So in answer to your question, white label nah dont bother.

cool! i hate it when a cartrige skips... i had a stanton groovemaster... big sound but skips by every backspin... only plus from the ortofon's they never skip but sound quality is shit!

I've used several cartridges over the years and must say that I find the WL's to be among the best. Fidelity is good imo. If you dj with them they do not last that long - esp if you are picky about the condition of your needles, which I happen to be. They do last as long as the 44-7s, cost the same and they wear your records less.
They are ok for pull ups but like all dj needles, they tend to get worn easily if you do this.

Basically all dj needles are crap. If you want to spin tunes at home and you have decent system buy a moving coil needle. Lasts much longer and sounds light years better. Denon's DL103 model is cheap and excellent but you would need a step up (and some skills if you want to mount it yourself).

I've used Whitelabels for years, always liked 'em. I also mainly just use them for control vinyl(they seem to work ok for those). There ya go.

Hmm, I shivered when I saw the price, 99 - 129 euros.
I don't know what to buy.

I think you can get the cartridge on ebay for around €70. The needles are approx £20 from chemical.

Is 'control vinyl' another word for acetate? In that case, I think the WL's are the optimal solution as they tend to wear the wax less than other needles.

I've been using them @ Kontakt (and on my decks at home) for about a year and had no problems with them.
