Hey everyone,

I'm new to the dubstep forums and wanted to introduce myself and my musical project; 'By Proxy'.

We are out of Seattle, WA, USA and while we overlap other genres our music is heavily influenced by dubstep. As the producer of this project I have made it a point (and a challenge) to keep the music squarely in the 140 BPM range.

We have one track up on our MySpace page thus far with more to follow in the very near future. Check us out here:

Props and peace to the global dubstep community.

Cheers!

Jeremy

Not a bad effort! O.K., some honest feedback......
The track kind of just drones on to me. The vocal sample is a bit repetitive, and there is no drop. The drums don't sound that loud, and the bass is a bit messy. But, I think you are off to a good start. Try to focus more on the arrangement, build up's, drops, transitions, ect.... Looking forward to hearing more from you in the future.

if you want, check out my first two tunes on virb.
They are the first two songs that I have written and produced

Hey Bay,

Thanks for the honest feedback...always welcome.

In terms of the droning on aspect, that's actually the aesthetic I was going for...on more of that hypnotic hip-hop-ish vibe.

Also trying to keep it raw instrumentally. Will post more tracks soon...thanks for taking the time to check it out.

Listening to your 'lofi dub' track right now. Definitely feeling the minimalist vibe!

Peace.

Right on. Looking forward to hearing more tunes from you soon! I do think that the track might benefit from having a drop at some point in the beginning. I like the sound of the bass, it might keep the listener more interested if it changed it up a bit more. Thank for taking the time to listen to my track!
