im currently using a cheap acer aspire laptop for production, has a busted lcd screen so using an ext. monitor, using some busted ass logitech speakers (the ones with 5 high end speakers and a small 2 or 3inch "sub"), WITHOUT any sort of audio interface....just going straight off this piece of shit acer sound car.....luckily from reading this forum over and over about eqing, etc, i can get things sounding at least decent to my ears.....but it's really time to step my game up ...... was wanting to maybe get a mac ibook g3 or g4 because they're cheap and as of right now im broke.....but my question is whether or not its possible to run fruity loops on a mac, maybe inside reason or programming your mac to run windows? not too sure about their OS.........anyone doing this? i'd like to get an idea of whether or not this is doable, and if so, how efficient is it? or whether it would just be pointless and i should just keep going with a pc?

i believe it's possible with things like parallels (there was another one someone posted up here the other day, but i can't remember what it was called) where you run windows along side osx. HOWEVER i don't know whether that would work particularly well on an old processor mac. i know there were some other threads on here about almost exactly the same thing so i would reccomend (as frustrating as it can be) to amble towards the search function...

windows for mac osx called boothcamp and yes you can run fruity and every virus for windows on your mac with boothcamp

So yeah - keep that acer laptop and use it for the internet and keep your mac offline if you're going to put windows on it

Im running Flstudio on an Imac, Im using bootcamp which allows you to have a windows partition. I noticed it runs better on a mac with windows than a pc with windows

I thinks its better this way because you get the best of both worlds
I use Flstudio to compose the music then any vocals get done in Logic.

I tried that but it didnt work for me because i use an external soundcard, it cuts the usb connection every 30 seconds or so, Causing glitches and stuttering. I would say bootcamp is the only way to go

Nah do the opposite, get a mac and fuck off FL, use logic... Ultrabeat has a very similar step sequencer, you'd only be gaining by going mac and logic.

Don't fuel this stupid argument. I've used both FL and Logic extensively, they're both powerful, and people can write some mad stuff them, so who gives a fuck? Stick with whichever works for you.
