doing some research for my Uni project...
Whats your favoritest format for spinning folks?
Why do you prefer your chosen option? Please don't write, the others are shit blah blah. What is it you actually prefer about your option?
Personally having used all of them, I'm a vinyl man. The feeling of pulling off a good mix is always a winner and you know that the sound is of a certain quality, where as when using MP3 with vinyl, i found you get a sound drop off when going from a brickwall limited tune to a vinyl.
Ableton i think is good for doing studio mixes and for generally working out the best parts of tunes to mix into and out of one another visually. It is good for doing a live set, but I personally havn't been inclined to look fourther into this just yet.
and using CD-J's feels like using toys to me, something very un-natural about it that ive never enjoyed using them, but again great studio tool.

Vinyl all day long, altho cos we cant afford to get dubs cut all the time we have to use cdj's in our set for sum of the unreleased bangers we get sent, dont really enjoy mixing with cds tbh.
Plus all digital things in this world have a habit of goin wrong more

Yes i know and was waiting for that, but i would like my research valid to my forum ID so i cant print off the whole topic and attach it to my report. Also that is for what formats you buy. this is for formats you DJ with!!
I might buy vinyl, but could DJ using serato..!

Vinyal for me too!
Mostly because I learnt to DJ on decks and I have my own and have done since I was a kid. I also like the feel of a big ol' platter.
I've only ever used CD-J's a few times and it was alright but a bit clunky and un-natural, I'm sure I would get use to it in time though.
Serato looks like it could be good but I've never tryed it. I've never tryed any other kind of DJing with computers and stuff like that either, one day maybe.

Vinyl all the way. Just feels like ur a 'proper DJ'. I don't know about evry1 else, but CDJs just feel like they're doing half the job for you...

Dubstep in this format is really hard to find! But Malas got a couple of releases. He's old-school
