Post by Arshaw » Mon Mar 30, 2009 2:38 pm

i mean... can it be classed as dubstep if there was no wobble? and im talkin [lack of] the heavy midrange rusko wub... not the dark sub WUB...

just a thought.

is it interesting to create dubstep as a live band?

bass?guitar?drums?vox?

i'd be psyched if i saw dubstep live...

just a genre for DJ's or also a genre for players?

Whaaaaat?

There is probably as much non-wobble dubstep as there is wobble and the Rusko style shit is only a recent trend, it doesn't even come close to defining Dubstep IMO. And I don't get your poll at all. I would check out Jazzsteppa for some live dubstep.

JAZZSTEPPA are a live dubstep band from Germany and they fucking rock.

And yes, I've made a few non-wobbly dubstep tunes. Dr. Gonzo and Space Monkey on my Myspaz player are non-wobbly. :D

Theres been dubstep without wobble since 06? maybe before?

And it does work in the live sense, its just 90% of crowds are stupid students who want to get off their face an listen to wobble and jump up and down so finding the audience could be a trouble these days

Wobble is addictive. :D I just hope HipHop never steals it like they did Autotune--overuse it / make the mass public tired of it, thereby ruining it for electronic musicians forever thereafter. That would be a dark, dark day.

yes and no.

In some places maybe it will, with the wobblers yeah.

But there will always be the crew who play everything, and then the one's who just play minimal, and so on.

You get it with every genre!

I don't mind wobble in moderation, it's just when tunes stop resembling any musical pattern, things get a little out of hand.

IMO wobble is fine, as long as it's used tastefully.
