get me started with some minimal techno 12" releases

Post by string » Tue Apr 07, 2009 2:58 pm

I recently made my first big purchase of minimal techno 12s cos chemical have a little sale going on, and now im trying to look through for some more but the sheer quantity of releases is a bit overwhemling, so I was wondering if I could get some recommendations of good 12s

Heres what I'm really feeling from the ones I brought the other day:

Hobo - Failsafe [MINUS]
Camea - Computer Says Love [CLINK]
Gasier - Leave It, Ground [MINUS]
Gaiser - Trunkated [MINUS]
Pan Pot - Charly [MOBILEE]
Pan Pot - What Is What / Wake Up [MOBILEE]
Ambivalent - R U OK [MINUS]
Alexi Delano - [CLINK012]

so dark, deep, interesting 12s....?

Yes, the quantity is overwhelming, but the tracks you named there are allready very good ones!
I could recommend you to check also the Trapez label! and Minilogue! and this label http://hardwax.com/act/ghostleigh/

And check also Grovskopa"s mix on Electronic Explorations, especially the last 6 tracks or something!

You should check Dial label, Border Community, if you want something more atmospheric.

The last Somfay's album on Archipel is wonderful.

However, if you prefer more "classic" minimal stuff, you can take a look on the complete discography of M-nus, Trapez, Perlon, Treibstoff, Clink, Pokerflat, Cadenza, Archipel, Hartchef Disco, Frankie, Hello:Repeat, Underline, Dumb Unit, Contexterior, Mo's Ferry just to name a few. If you need some more, ask me !

I strongly recommend you to listen to the Superlongevity compilations on Perlon.

Otherwise, you can take a look on mnml.nl, it's a web forum about minimal techno such as this place.

I like this one too. I'm gonna check out the one you posted when I get time.

I also like Lawrence - Corporate Identity.

Oh yeah, and of course Basic Channel and Chain Reaction. Thats dubby techno though, but I'm sure some of it can pass as minimal techno, right?

i'd consider dub techno a part of minimal techno, i've heard very little dub techno that wasn't minmal as fuck
