First Track

Post by vankleef » Mon Apr 13, 2009 5:21 pm

Hello there, i m just starting making dubstep. Since i have started producing, all i did was some shitty loops and nothing i really liked (lots of loops no constructions etc ... ). But i just have finally did something i like and i wanted to know if i'm in a wrong way. Anyway i find the track not very evolutive but dunno how and what to add. Perhaps some dubheads here could give me some advices/tricks.

Any feedback are welcomed, thanks in advance

This is very good for a first track. Like you already mentioned, all that needs sorting is the structure.

Basically all it needs is 1 or 2 breakdowns in the middle to break up repetition. Listen to your favorite tracks and you will notice they have a quiet section in the middle where drums drop out or something different happens. This is a breakdown and is a really good way of keeping the track interesting for the full duration.
Out Now:
DD005 - Retrospect
MRS029 - Connected/Lovin' You
DAR010 - Santogold - Shove It (remix) 12"
SET003 - Bob Marley - Is This Love (remix) 12"
Echodub Loves Volume 2 - White Room
FTW Records Digital - Panic Room
FTW Free Compilation - Get Up (a.k.a Symphony)
