FL studio question need help
Basicaly whats happening is im trying to make a looped bassline go longer then 16 bars, and it wont let me draw it in longer then 16 on the playlist. My drum beat loop is 8 bars, and my piano loop is 16 bars, which fits perfectly, but i need my bassline to be as long as my drum loop x4 which is 32. Any time i try recording a bassline longer then 16, even if i select 32 in the top left hand corner of the step sequencer, it just resets at 16 when im in the piano roll and starts recording over itself. Can someone please help me, and tell me how i can record a bassline that loops after 32 bars, and if its possible to draw it into the playlist at 32 bars????

i have this problem too. i dont know how to make the sequencer show 32 bars, it seems that it maxs out at 16...
however...
what i do to overcome this is simply make two 16 bar patterns and play them back to back. there will be a little click in between patters if you have the same note on the last beat of the first pattern and the first beat of the second pattern.
i know this doesnt really answer your question though. sorry.

I have offered the FL staff this little tidbit as a product suggestion, but they dont seem to want to ride that train. I make 2 different patterns if I want to cover an area that is twice as long as the project setting, then have to set all automations to "initialize at this position" at the beginning of the second pattern so they will coincide with where they left off in the first pattern.
It is definately ALOT more work then if you just had the ability to crank out a 2x pattern in a project, or be able to set pattern sizes individually without limitations.
Another possible work around might be to write it as 2 patterns, render it out, import the rendered file as a sample and trigger it every 32. This may or may not work depending on the type of workflow you have, what you intend to do with the sound, and automations -etc. -Or it may create more work for you than it circumvented.
